The platform upon which the new engines are built and which is shared with the USD 1009-series scooters is called the Eu20i platform. It is designed to meet the demands of the Indian market and the engineering requirements of the manufacturers who produce it. The platform is made of aluminum with a steel backbone and swingarm. The engine is located in the rear of the bike, right behind the swingarm. The suspension components are made of Columbus Silk-Bro/carbon fiber composites.
